Identifying the Problem

  • What was the existing condition of the structure/material?

The primary concern was poor thermal performance, with the client reporting noticeable "cold spots" internally near the dormers.

  • What were the client's pain points or goals?

The customer reported uncomfortable "cold spots" internally near the dormers, indicating poor thermal insulation. His goal was to achieve a sleek, modern look with improved energy efficiency while working within the existing footprint of the house.

The Solution

  • Assessment:

Jordann and the team recommended a full "building envelope" refresh. We prioritised sealing the failing dormers with GRP and upgrading the windows to eliminate heat loss.

  • Materials Used:

    - Roofing: GRP capping: a cost-effective, durable and leak-resistant solution.
    - Windows: uPVC in Concrete Grey for high thermal efficiency.
    - Cladding: Hardie® Plank (Black) for dormer cheeks and Cedral Click (Black) to replace the front render.
    - Entrance: Hallmark Esprit 2 Door with Black Diamond decorative glass and satin side panels.

  • Implementation:

We replaced the failing felt with GRP roofing, adding custom decorative mouldings for a sleek finish. The worn timber was swapped for black cladding, and the new windows were installed to tie the modern look together. Finally, we performed a soft wash roof clean and colour-matched the garage door to the window RAL number.

  • Result Focus:

The revamp successfully modernised the property's aesthetic while solving the internal "cold spots" through high-spec insulation and materials.
